Most radio presenters in the Ashanti region Tuesday abandoned their programs to show up at the vetting of the Ashanti regional minister designate Hon. Simon Osei Mensah.
Aspiring Ashanti NDC chair; Joseph Yammin wonders why, media people who are supposed to be largely neutral will show open support for the New Patriotic Party.
“I have been a friend of the media for a very long time but none of them accompanied me to my vetting because I am NDC. Hon. Samuel Sarpong has a very good relationship with the media but they never trooped to Accra in support of him when he was appointed Ashanti regional minister”, he explained.
Yammin cited notable Radio Professionals including Abusua FM’s Kwame Adinkra and Lawyer Ohene Gyan among the media folks that traveled to Accra to lend open support for the former MP for the Bosomtwe constituency.
He admonishes media folks in the Ashanti region not to forget to show similar vigor when “the next NDC government appoints an Ashanti regional minister in 2021”.
