Beneficiaries of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) are threatening a strike action if government does not restore their allowances immediately.
A press statement issued by some of the beneficiaries who identify as coalition of YEA beneficiaries, explain that government suspended their allowances with the excuse of auditing YEA’s payroll.
“This has affected the activities of most of the beneficiaries. As the Agency is aware, most of the beneficiaries are working in the rural areas and due to the nonpayment of the allowances, they are stranded at their working areas”, the statement explains.
The beneficiaries have consequently given the government upto 16th June, 2017 to pay them their allowances. They say if government refuses to pay, they will withdraw their services.
