Yendi – there can’t be war between Dagombas and Konkombas, Defence minister assures

A high powered government delegation led by the minister for Defense Dominic Nitiwul has assured the Ya-Na and the people of the Dagbon that there is not going to be any war between Dagombas and the Konkombas.
In a welcome address read by Zangbaling Naa Dr. Jacob Yakubu Mahama, the King and overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II expressed concern about the recent spread of messages on the social media in relation to a pending war between Dagombas and Konkombas.
The King called on the government to as a matter of urgency to endeavour to bring matters of the rumoured war under control before something happens.
He called on the people of the kingdom to live in peace with each other to attract development to the kingdom instead of thinking of wars that would send the region backwards.
The defense minister, Dominic Nitiwul assured the King and the people of the kingdom that government is not asleep on the issue of the spread of such war mongering messages on social media. He mentioned that the security forces are working out on investigation and arresting culprits.
He appealed to the King and chiefs int he kingdom not to assist in freeing any culprit.
He directed all MMDEs in the Eastern corridor to immediately organize DISEC meetings and move to all Communities in their districts to sensitize them on the dangers of the impending war.
The defense minister indicated that anybody who does anything to instigate war in the region would not be spared .
The defense minister was accompanied by all MMDCEs in the Eastern corridor, some members of parlia6form both the minority and majority and leadership of Dagbon and Konkomba youth groups.
Chiefs in attendance included the Kumbung Naa, Diyal Lana, Gushe Naa, Mion Lana, Lamashe Naa, Zangbaling Naa among others.
