Ghana Politics News-The First Vice-Chairman for Asokwa NPP, Edmund Kyei has cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to be swayed by the sweet words of John Mahama, the former President as he seeks a return to lead it into the 2020 elections.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Mr Kyei said the former President from the time he was Vice-President has not been truthful in his dealings with the people of Ghana.
With his alleged involvement in the inflation of some helicopters and some contracts, Mr Kyei rallied the NDC to reject John Mahama in his attempt to seek to become flag-bearer again.
Pointing to the former President’s failed timelines when the country was reeling under dumsor, Mr Kyei said the former President is an ‘insincere’ person.
‘’It is pathetic that a man who lied to Ghanaians would want to lead the NDC as flag-bearer again even when he tricked the party of using a supposed unity walk to unify its rank and file’’, Mr Kyei slammed.
TRICKS:
The Asokwa Vice-Chair noted that the former President is bent on perpetrating tricks on the members of the NDC to woo them into voting for him to become flag-bearer
The NDC, Mr Kyei cautioned will do itself a lot of harm when it decides to buy into the tricks being deployed by Mr Mahama to get the nod as flag-bearer.
He wondered why the former President could hide behind the party’s unity walk and project himself above all the other interested flag-bearer hopefuls when he alone spoke on platforms.
‘’How can you trust someone who despite claims for unity will use the recent unity walks to project himself than anybody in the NDC’’, Mr Kyei quizzed.
NANA ADDO:
The Asokwa Vice-Chair extolled the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for dealing with the dumsor in the first month of office as leader.
This, Mr Kyei noted is a mark of a good leader who does not only show concern about a problem but works to solve it.
The country, the NPP communications team member mentioned has since the 18months of the President enjoyed stable power.
He, therefore, rallied the populace to support the NPP and the President to fix all challenges including infrastructure, unemployment and poverty.
‘’I am convinced that with the projects and policies the President is rolling out unemployment, poverty and infrastructure deficit will be dealt with very soon’’, the Asokwa Vice-Chair intimated.
