The Youth and Sports Committee of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has expressed support for Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their encounter with Accra Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s match.
In a statement signed by Hon. Kwasi Kwarteng (Convener), also called on the match officials to be fair in their decisions.
The Committee advised organisers of the match to adhere to all COVID-19 prevention protocols to ensure public safety.

Youth and Sports Committee Declares Support for Kumasi Asante Kotoko
Its yet another season of football and Ghana’s Premier League is already heated for another el classico of our time between the porcupine warriors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and famous Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Youth and Sports sub-community of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly wish to express their support to Kumasi Asante Kotoko on their game against Accra Heart of Oak.
It our believe that whoever is selected to handle this all-important match would be fair to both teams to avoid any unexpected situation, and we hope at the end of the game Kotoko would be the winner.
We used this medium to advice all the supporters who would have the opportunity to go to the stadium to exercise some restrain to avoid another disaster.
There are three things in association with football, either your team wins, lose or draw and any of these three can happen.
It is the hope of the youth and sports sub-committee as well as the football man Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi the City Mayor that you win all this important match.
We would cease this opportunity to advice the organizers to put measures in place in accordance with the covid-19 protocols and also advise supporters to adhere to it as such.
We wish both teams all the best, may the better side win.
