The Chief of Buokrom, Nana Adu Mensah has publicly lauded Mr Andy Osei Okrah on his appointment as the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister.
According to the Chief, the Deputy Minister had by his lifestyle and appointment brought honor to the people of the Buokrom Community.
Recalling his vetting when he was nominated by the president as Deputy Minister during an outdoor program at Buokrom to honor the son of the soil, Nana Adu Mensah said he was overwhelmed with the forthright answers Mr Okrah gave to the questions asked by members of the appointment committee of parliament.
The chief stressed the importance of living an exemplary life wherever one found himself since no one could tell who may be observing for future recommendation.
APPEAL:
The Buokrom Chief in a passionate appeal reminded Mr Andy Okrah that his appointment comes with a lot sacrifice and commitment to duty.
According to him, leadership positions were avenues for one to display a high sense of service and sacrifice, adding sometimes good leaders serve to the peril of their own lives.
” Good leaders have some distinct quality that distinguishes them from the ordinary ones and that was service with humility”, Nana noted.
The Chief, however, appealed that roads in the Buokrom community be re-graveled and reshaped since residents were facing a lot of difficulty stemming from the dusty nature of the adjoining routes.
RESPONSE:
Addressing the gathering later at the traditional event, Mr Andy Osei Okrah expressed his delight at the honor done him by the Chief and people of Buokrom.
He promised to use his office to lobby for development projects for the town as well as help the youth to secure employment in the Youth Employment Modules which is estimated to provide over 3million jobs in the next term of office of the President, John Mahama.
According to Mr Okrah, the NDC government believes in the empowerment of people and therefore he saw his appointment as a platform to encourage others to serve well wherever they may be located.
Announcing with deafening applause from the crowd including party supporters, Mr Okrah said the Buokrom routes had just been awarded on contract and work was to begin this week.
