Current league champions Aduana Stars have mutually parted company with head coach Yusif Abubakar.
The former Hearts of Oak trainer guided the Dormaa-based club to pick both the G8 Tournament and the league trophy – their second league title since 2009. They however booked their ticket to represent the country in the CAF Champions League.
After failing to make to strides in champions league, they are now pitted in the money zone of the Confederation Cup – amassing just a point from two games.
“There was a meeting between the life patron of the club, Osiedeayo Nana Agyemang Badu II, after training yesterday. It was at the meeting that both parties a agreed to mutually part ways,” Communication Director Evans Oppong told Kumasi-based station Silver FM.
“Yusif was told that the club needs a new challenge and direction.
“We can assure our fans the club is bent on appointing a new coach to take over the mantle,” he added.
The ‘Ogya Boys’ have began preparations ahead of their match against Congolese side AS Vita Club next week.
With the resumption of the second round of the Zylofon Cash Premier League still in dark clouds, Aduana are occupying the 14th spot with 14 points.
